Our New IPA – East Coast IPA

East Coast IPA

The third beer in our Our New IPA Needs No Introduction series is a real trip back in time, more or less to 2011, when the IPAs that dominated the Polish market had a copper colour, a lot of bitterness and a pine and resin aroma with not too dominant citrus notes. At that time, no one called such beer an East Coast IPA, but today – several years later – the IPA family has grown enormously and this approach of brewers has led to the creation of a separate sub-style.

We opted for a moderate extract – 16 Plato, fairly high bitterness and, in order not to be boring in this brewing retrospective, we made an interesting blend of well-known hops with those that are less popular: Ahhhroma, Zappa and Amarillo. This interesting mixture will delight you not only with the classic resin-citrus duo, but also with rather surprising notes of wild strawberries.
