NEW SCHOOL – Hazy English IPA

Hazy English IPA

Hazy English IPA is bright, hazy and velvety-smooth thanks to wheat malt as well as oat and wheat flakes. Brewed with new-wave British hop varieties — Harlequin, Olicana and Godiva — developed in response to the worldwide popularity of intensely aromatic varieties from overseas. The aroma is driven by vibrant notes of citrus and tropical fruit, while the juicy haze, soft mouthfeel and restrained bitterness give the beer a distinctly modern character. This is our contemporary interpretation of the English IPA tradition.

OLD SCHOOL vs. NEW SCHOOL!

Classic beer styles brewed by us in pairs — one rooted in tradition, the other interpreted through a modern approach. Try both and discover how beer evolves as techniques, ingredients and brewing knowledge evolve over time.

What does a modern English IPA taste like?

In our interpretation of Hazy English IPA, we focused on maximum drinkability and smoothness. The 15° Plato grist, featuring a generous proportion of oat and wheat flakes, creates a full-bodied, almost creamy texture. At 5.8% ABV, the beer stays perfectly within the spirit of the style without overwhelming its delicate balance. The bitterness is present yet restrained, but in keeping with the “New School” spirit, it remains short, soft and fruit-driven, standing in clear contrast to the firm bitterness of classic British interpretations.

What food pairs well with Hazy English IPA?

The hazy and juicy nature of this beer makes it exceptionally versatile at the table. The tropical profile of these modern British hops pairs beautifully with Asian cuisine, especially dishes such as Thai curry or pad thai. Hazy English IPA also works wonderfully alongside a classic fish and chips served with a generous portion of tartar sauce, and can even complement creamy desserts like cheesecake topped with fruit sauce. For the best experience, serve it in a nonic pint glass at 8–10°C.

Be sure to try the second beer from the pair — Classic English IPA.
