English Barley Wine Red Wine Barrel Aged

Barrel-Aged Barley Wine

The heart of this beer lies in its grain bill (the grist): we used seven different types of malt sourced from four maltsters across three countries. For hopping, we selected the noble British variety – East Kent Goldings. The finished barley wine was then aged for 18 months in barrels previously filled with Tempranillo red wine.

In the glass, it reveals a dark, intense color with vivid ruby reflections. The aroma unfolds gradually: initially mild, but with time it becomes increasingly expressive. The bouquet is dominated by notes of red stone fruits and blackcurrants. The flavor delivers high intensity: alongside the fruit character, you’ll find echoes of Spanish sherry, subtle oak, and a touch of tannins. The barrel-aging process has made this beer noticeably drier than the base version, yet it retains a full body and delicate caramel undertones. Its powerful strength is undeniable, although the alcohol is exceptionally well-integrated.
