The 17th ARTFEST Art Festival 2020

The ArtFest Festival is an extraordinary celebration of art that takes place in and around Tarnów every year between November and December. This year the event will last one month. From November 20th to December 20th you will have the opportunity to interact with jazz, design, French song, photography, glass, ceramics, architecture and pastry art. Health will also be an important and current topic of the festival.

The festival was founded in 2003 and has gradually evolved over the years, currently being one of the most important cultural events taking place in autumn in Tarnów. The initiator and curator of the festival was Bogusław Wojtowicz, longtime director of the city’s BWA Gallery, an art enthusiast and a jazz music lover. His intention was to create an art festival – a festival, the formula of which would resemble jazz improvisation, and thus effectively would combine different forms of art, allowing the public to participate in outstanding exhibitions, theatrical performances, concerts, conferences, film screenings, meetings with artists, happenings, workshops that would guarantee the highest artistic level. The combination of all these disciplines is a characteristic sign of ArtFest which constitutes a specific mixture of tradition and modernity. The wide form of the event means that everyone can find something interesting there.

This year’s promising slogan “Bad times pass away, art remains!” underlines the importance of art which in various moments of history helped to survive difficult moments. The current edition combines the feast of art with an important topic of preventive health care.

Each festival is a meeting with exceptional artists who come to Tarnów from all over Poland and from abroad. This year’s festival guests were, among others: Stasys Eidrigevicius, Ryszard Horowitz, Łódź Kaliska, Jerzy Skolimowski, Leon Tarasewicz, Maja Komorowska, Giulia y Los Tellarini, Nigel Kennedy & Kroke, Motion Trio, Zbigniew Jakubek Quartet, Tomasz Stańko, Susanko Weinert, Gaba Kulka, VOO VOO i Haydamaky, Andrzej Stasiuk, Andrzej Dudziński, Wojciech Pszoniak.

We cordially invite you to participate in this extraordinary festival, especially as we are the sponsor of this cultural event in Tarnów!
